You start from the car park of the St. Anton sports zone in Kalten and walk briefly towards Altenburg, then turn left (sign “Friedensweg”) and walk briefly downhill. Follow the signposts through forest and cultural landscape to the wild Rastenbachklamm gorge and on to St. Peter in Altenburg. From Altenburg, take hiking trail no. 11 (South Tyrolean Wine Route circular route) back to the starting point.

On the path of peace you will find 8 points of reflection that invite you to pause, reflect and rest for a moment.

Five of the seven themes, namely measure, wisdom, justice, faith and hope, were designed by artists and integrated into the surroundings. The Rastenbach Gorge stands for the theme of courage, while the early Christian church ruins of St. Peter’s are assigned the theme of love. St. Peter’s is probably the oldest church ruin in Tyrol. The final point of reflection is the Friedensbrücke. The new, 37-metre-long bridge, where the Peace Path ends, was built exactly on the spot where the remains of the bridge from the Middle Ages can still be seen.
