From the lake to Kaltern | W104
Hiking surrounded by vineyards
You start from Lake Kaltern and hike through the vineyards up to the Dominikus Keller. The stone wall cellar is something special, because Dominikus himself carved the masterpiece into the stone with a pickaxe. You should not pass up a tour of the cellar. Afterwards, you can take a leisurely stroll through the vineyard landscape up to Kaltern. The landscape is a highlight especially in spring and in autumn during harvest time. You are approaching the village center of Kaltern.
At the wine farm Andi Sölva you walk to Rottenbuger Square and down to the main square of Kaltern. The village center is traffic-calmed and really beautiful. By the way, it is a good place to stroll around and many restaurants and cafés invite you to stop for a bite to eat. Through the Bahnhof street you walk past the Winecenter to the wine and sparkling wine cellar Kettmeir. Across the vineyards you return to Lake Kaltern. If you have your swimming trunks with you, then take a dip in the lake.
Alternatively, you can also take the bus from Kaltern to Tramin.
